- Family Ministry is focused on empowering each family as families are the foundation and the
strength of a Church, community as well as society. The ministry helps in strengthening families and
individuals thus, focusing to bring healing in marriages between husband and wives, parents and
children through the abundant love and grace of Jesus Christ. The ministry is supervised by an
Associate Pastor and with the partnership of Evangelistic Committee consisting of 28 members, visible
transformative outcomes are been witnessed through the proclamation of the gospel to every
household.
- Our Vision :
The vision of our ministry is to create a nurturing environment of stability where every
families experiences God’s amazing love and also acceptance in perceptible ways is unequaled. Not only
an individual but the family as a whole to receive salvation on earth and attain for eternity.
Our History : Before the Kumlong Baptist Fellowship was officially announced as a fellowship, the
Mokokchung Town Baptist Church selected few individuals to serve in Evangelistic Committee. Under the
directive of the Church, prayer fellowships and home visitations were proceeded. In 1977, more members
were appointed to reach out families in a larger scale.
- In order to reconnect Church and home, in the year 2000, the Church appointed a Home Evangelist Mr.
Kikum Longkumer hailing from Changtongya village. He was assigned to reach out families and encourage
everyone to have a dynamic and authentic faith in one’s believe. There was no separate ministry to look
for families. However, it was in the year 2016, under the directive of Biblical Church Model Family Ministry
was introduced. The ministry thereon, activated with more insights in gaining the knowledge of each
family context, imparting to be grounded in Christian faith and also helping to abide and live by the
teachings of Jesus Christ.
- Activities involved :
1. The ministry deals with alcoholic and drug-abuse individuals.
2. Involve in home visitations. The ministry takes part in funerals, visits the sick, disabled individuals
and senior citizen and offers them prayer and counseling.
3. With an understanding that participating in healing ministry- both Physical and spiritual, hospital
ministry is been introduced and financial assistance are been given according to the needs of each
individuals.
4. The ministry plays a vital role in helping those who are in prison. Spending time together with the
prisoners- sharing the gospel and fellowshipping with them has been a challenging ministry.
5. Pre-marital counselling, Bible study, Baptism, and supporting families who are been excommunicated from Church are given right teachings and further encouraging them to become a
member of the body of Christ and the Church.
6. Deals with divorce issues
7. After every four years the ministry focuses to visit every house hold.
8. Training, seminars and exposure trip are been held for Evangelistic committee members.
